出国留学收到多所学校的offer后，经过多方面的比较，如综合排名、专业排名、奖学金多少、自己对研究方向以及学校地域的喜好等等，就有接受和拒绝两种答复了。对于这种选择，每个人都会有自己的决定，希望大家能认真做出选择。

一、接受

一般是先Email答复，就表示接受就可以了。然后把学校给你寄来的接受表格签字画押 接受寄回去就ok了。如果学校没有给你接受表格，那么去个email问问接受offer是不是要写个书面的答复，然后按他们的回复去做就可以了。

一般来说，接受正式的录取，必须要让学校获得有你亲笔签名的reply form才行。有些学校可以接受传真过去的reply form，而有些学校就一定要求书面答复。这些都要事先问清楚学校的要求再行动。

下面是个接受offer 的例子：

Dear XXX,

I decide to accept your offer! I received your mailed offer several weeks ago. In these days, I became familiar with the city and the university. As far as I know, XXX is a great place to live and learn! So I decide to accept this offer! It's my honor to study in XXX. Thank you very much!

And would you please tell me whether I need to send my decision with a written statement to you? Best regards!

Sincerely, XXX

当然，接受录取的过程也不一定有这么复杂，有时候根本不需要你写信，直接填好 reply form 寄回去就可以了。如果你觉得邮递不保险，可以选择快递业务寄送接受录取的回执。

二、拒绝

和上文的过程一样，就是把接受换成拒绝(decline)就可以了。建议有多个offers的人把不想去的学校早日拒掉，因为你拿着也只能看，但拒掉了之后，就有可能使同样申请的人 有机会早日拿到这个offer，对他人来说你是做了件大好事。下面是个拒绝offer的例子：

Dear Professor,

I feel grateful for your providing me an offer to your honored University, but I have accepted the offer from another university, and I am afraid that I couldn't go to your University. Thanks for your consideration.

Sincerely, XXX

三、退出申请(withdraw)

建议各位已经拿到offer并且准备接受的同学，早点撤回所有的申请;还有已经拿到offer的同学，早点撤回那些即使来了offer，但是因为排名靠后也不会去的学校。因为一个人即 使能拿到一堆 offers，最终也只能去一个自己最心仪的学校，拿着一堆 offers 而不放手的确 是没什么意思的。下面是退出申请的样板：

Dear Committee Members,

I am an applicant to your Ph.D. program in ******* for the fall of 2003. (Name: ****, Date of Birth: ****) I am deeply sorry that I have to withdraw my application, because I have already received several offers up to now, and almost decide to accept one of them. ****, including the world-class groups in *******, is still a perfect institution for me, but I do not think it is appropriate to take up your precious time and effort in evaluating my application in this case. And

I think that it will be inconvenient for other applicants if I am still on your list.

I am confident that your department will be very successful in recruiting new ******* students. Also, I hope that you could give favorable considerations to other Chinese applicants, especially those from ******* University, which is the best university in China. I believe that there are about

*** graduates in ******* University who are capable to study ******* in the very top universities in the States.
